Reese Towpower extends sponsorship with JTG Daugherty Racing for 2012

 Reese Towpower extends sponsorship with JTG Daugherty Racing;
 signs on for second year as a 2012 sponsor of Bobby Labonte and team

Solon, OH (October 24, 2011) – Cequent Consumer Products announces it will be extending its sponsorship a second year with JTG Daugherty Racing and champion driver, Bobby Labonte for the 2012 Sprint Cup Series Chase.   Cequent, the Automotive Aftermarket product leader’s main brands, Reese Towpower® and Highland® will be the flagship brands for a sponsorship theme in 2012 “Take Care of Your Car.” For decades, Reese Towpower has been the leading brand of towing and trailering products and Highland for cargo securing, organizing and other vehicle protection products.

“We are aggressively extending the reach of our leading brands through the world of NASCAR racing and are thrilled to sponsor JTG for second year,” said Francis Bernart, VP of Marketing Cequent Consumer Products. “Race fans and race drivers are Reese and Highland customers and this includes our driver Bobby Labonte, who uses Reese Products personally and understands our business.”

In addition to Reese Towpower® and Highland® products, other returning sponsors include: Kingsford® Charcoal, Bush’s® Beans , Clorox®,  Kimberly-Clark Corporation,  Hidden Valley®, KC Masterpiece® Barbeque Sauces & marinades, and Glad® bags and wraps. The team announced co-sponsorship marketing platforms for their 2012 sponsors with innovative promotion tools that will allow the brands to promote together to maximizes exposure and minimize costs.

The 2012 sponsors and the team’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series plans were formally announced during a press conference held at Talladega Superspeedway on October 23rd by JTG Daugherty team owners, Tad and Jodi Geschickter and Brad Daugherty.  Other announcements included personnel changes with the addition of Todd Berrier as crew chief and general manager of the JTG Daugherty Racing operation. Berrier spent nearly two decades as a crew chief at Richard Childress Racing and led his team into the Chase for the Sprint Cup four times. Berrier will replace current crew chief, Frank Kerr who has held this role with JTG for the last four seasons. Kerr will become the team’s shop foreman. 

Toyota and TRD USA (Toyota Racing Development) will continue to support the No. 47 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series entry as the team returns to the Harrisburg, N.C. race shop for their base of race operations.

This year, Cequent Consumer Products sponsored the team’s No 47 Toyota Camry in 4 races, preseason at the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona International Speedway, the All-Star Race qualifying at Charlotte Motor Speedway, The Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway, The Homestead at Miami Speedway.
