Cequent Consumer Products Donates to Help Save Lives and Raise Bone Marrow Awareness

CEQUENT CONSUMER PRODUCTS DONATES AD SPACE ON SPONSORED RACE CAR TO HELP SAVE LIVES AND RAISE AWARENSS FOR BONE MARROW DONATIONS

Solon, OH (February 9, 2011) -Cequent Consumer Products (CCP) brands, Reese Towpower® and HIGHLAND® are first time NASCAR race team sponsors and are jumping in to the sponsorship with tremendous generosity. Reese Towpower® and HIGHLAND®, have donated prime ad space on the back panel of their sponsored #47 Toyota Camry car that will race in the preseason Budweiser Shootout at Daytona Speedway Saturday, February 12, 2011. Reese Towpower has offered to reduce the size of the company logo on the back of the car so that the space can be used to promote bone marrow donations and the face of six year old Jordan Jemsek. Jordan needs a bone marrow match to survive her battle with acute myeloid leukemia, a cancer of the blood and bone marrow.

JTG Daugherty Racing owns the #47 Toyota and is excited to have championship driver and racing veteran, Bobby Labonte driving the #47 car this 2011 NASCAR season. The JTG race team approached Reese Towpower about Jordan's story after reading about her in their local paper, the Charlotte Observer. Reese Towpower realized their generosity would help Jordan's story and bone marrow donation awareness reach a national audience. "We are delighted to do what we can in the hopes that someone will hear about this and be a match for Jordan, or someone else in need of a match for bone marrow," said Cequent Vice President of Marketing, Francis Bernart. Reese Towpower and HIGHLAND are the sponsors for the #47 car in the shootout race which will be televised on the FOX network.

Added to the back panel of the #47 car will be Jordan's picture and the website http://www.getswabbed.org/, which is owned by DKMS, the world's largest bone marrow donor center in the world. CCP will be watching the race together as a company at a local sports bar. "While we are cheering on Bobby and the #47 Reese Towpower car in our first race, we will also be thinking about all of the generous NASCAR fans out there who might see the getswabbed.org website on our car and register to get their bone marrow tested," said Bernart.

Go to http://www.getswabbed.org/ for information on registering for a bone marrow testing kit. There is an online registration process and a do-it-yourself cheek swab kit will be mailed to you.
