Elaborate Display planned for Michigan Race Weekend

Cequent Consumer Products plans elaborate product display and Fan activities for race weekend at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) June 17-19, 2011.

 

For Immediate ReleaseSolon, OH (June10, 2011) - Cequent Consumer Products the leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of innovative towing and cargo securing products for the automotive, recreation, and trailering aftermarket is gearing up to introduce NASCAR fans to a wide variety of products from our leading brands, Reese Towpower and Highland at Michigan International Speedway June 17-19th.  Reese Towpower and Highland are sold in leading retailers nationwide and are first year sponsors of JTG Daugherty Racing and the No. 47 Toyota Camry driven by 2000 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Bobby Labonte. 

Cequent plans on having a good time with fans while promoting products at an elaborate interactive display in the fan activation area of the track that will be featuring fun activities such as a “Hitch Ball Challenge,” a photo booth where fans can get their picture taken as a race car driver with Labonte’s No.47 on the backdrop of the mural and a chance to spin a wheel for cool prizes featuring Labonte and the No. 47 Reese Towpower car.  

“The display is going to be pretty exciting with everything our group has been planning so we hope that race fans enjoy learning about Reese and Highland and have a good time visiting us,” said Francis Bernart, Vice President of Marketing, Cequent Consumer Products,   “Race fans are Reese and Highland fans – so far this year, we found that many of the fans we met through our sponsorship with JTG, use our products.  The Michigan race is a great way to meet new consumers who may not know our products, and encourage them to buy our products from our retail partners, said Bernart.

 A display sure to grab the attention of race fans will be a large custom-painted  truck hood that The Ohio Technical College (OTC) created to help Highland promote Washdrops®,  a new environmentally- friendly car wash solution. An ounce of Washdrops, is added to a gallon of water and requires - no rinse, no hose for a beautiful shine.  Fans will be able clean the new hood by trying out Washdrops.

NEW Award winning “Best New Product” Reese Towpower Lighted Hitch Covers and Emblems will be set up in the Reese electrical area.   A first for the auto aftermarket parts industry, these one of a kind, officially licensed, newly patented, Lighted Hitch Covers and Emblems gives auto enthusiasts a way to customize their hitches with auto manufacturer branding for the first time.

In the middle of the display area, a decked out Reese Towpower and Highland SUV and  trailer with an ATV that will showcase both brand’s products including: hitches, hitch balls, jacks, winches, couplers, an assortment of coupler locks, bungees, tie downs, ramps,  rainproof roof top carriers, hitch mounted carriers, and multi-purpose steel cargo trays - Perfect products for any road trip!

Getting your gear on the road has never been more organized. Highland interior vehicle organization products can increase cargo space and help to keep the vehicle neat and tidy during long road trips or for the everyday activities.  Fans can see these products displayed in the vehicle’s interior along with Highland all weather floor mats.  

Fans will love the Highland bike racks. The unique SportWing Hitch Mounted rack can hold up to four bikes – any size, any style.  No more trying to force the bike frame onto a standard rack.  The SportWing is adjustable and holds the bikes by the wheel for easy on, secure transport, and easy removal!

Labonte is not running in the Reese Towpower/Highland branded No. 47 car at the Michigan International Speedway but fans can still cheer him on in the race. Catch Labonte in the Reese/Highland car next on August 7th at Pocono Raceway, PA.
