Reese Towpower Sponsors Champion Driver Bobby Labonte and JTG Racing

08-Feb-2011 Cequent Consumer Products, a TriMas company, and the Reese® Towpower and Highland® brands proudly announces a new sponsorship with champion driver Bobby Labonte and the JTG Daugherty Racing team #47 Sprint Cup Toyota Camry car. The Reese® Towpower car will debut during the Budweiser Shootout on Saturday February 12 at Daytona International Speedway. Reese will sponsor the car in the All-Star event at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May and return as the primary sponsor at Pocono Raceway in August. "For decades Reese Towpower products have been relied upon to get our customers, many of whom are NASCAR fans, ‘to the track and back' reliably. Now, with the #47 car being driven by the proven champion Bobby Labonte and the crew of JTG Daugherty Racing, we will contribute to the entire racing experience," said Vice President of Marketing Francis Bernart.

Reese® Towpower has donated the TV panel on the No. 47 Toyota for the 33rd annual Shootout Saturday, February 12th to help six-year-old Jordan Jemsek and her family find a match for a bone marrow transplant needed to save Jordan’s life. Jordan has Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia (AML) and a bone marrow transplant is her only chance to win her battle against Leukemia. A photo of Jordan and the website will be on the back panel of Labonte’s car near the Reese®Towpower logo to help raise awareness about bone marrow testing in hopes of finding a match for Jordan and others. "We’re thankful for Reese® Towpower’s support in our efforts to help Jordan," Labonte said. Jordan’s story touched the team at JTG after recently appearing in the Charlotte Observer where the JTG race team is located.

Sponsorship of Labonte’s #47 Toyota include: Cequent brands: Reese® Towpower and Highland® along with: Raineater™ wiper blades: The Kroger Co., Kingsford® Charcoal, Little Debbie®, Lance® Sandwich Crackers, Bush Brothers & Company, Clorox®, The Kimberly-Clark Corporation. Associate sponsorships for 2011 include Glad® Bags & Wraps, KC Masterpiece®, Hidden Valley®, Tom’s®, Coca-Cola®, and Sullivan-Palatek®.

JTG Daugherty Racing co-owner Tad Geschickter is excited about the 2011 season sponsorship for the #47 Toyota car. "We are indeed fortunate to have substantial corporate partners lined up again for 2011 and to have a driver of Bobby’s caliber piloting the No 47 Toyota," said Geschickter. "Bobby is a proven winner and he will help us achieve our goals of winning races and selling cases for our sponsors." This is the first sponsorship of this kind For Cequent Consumer Products.

AutoZone will be promoting the Reese Towpower sponsorship with a NASCAR Dream Race Weekend Sweepstakes this spring.
